Our next
showcase is coming up on Friday evening, August 22, with a
matinee
performance on Sunday afternoon, August 24. This will be a
burlesque type of showcase, and it will be held at our studio.
On Friday
evening, there will be general dancing for everyone, along with hors
d'oeuvres from
7-8 pm for $5.00. It will be enjoyed in dinner theatre style. The
Showcase performance will start at 8:00 pm and will be $10.00.
On Sunday
afternoon, the Showcase matinee performance will start
at 3:00 pm and will be $10.00.
The subject
matter in some of the routines is a bit more risqué due to the
Cabaret/Burlesque theme.

I have never
seen so many afros and so much polyester in my life.
Denny was
dressed up in his baby blue leisure suit, along with his huge afro
wig.
Ren was the
"Disco King" with his afro and all his gold chains. He even found
some chest hair he didn't know he had!
Tammy came
attired in her psychedelic-colored bell bottoms along with her afro
and jingling coins attached to her hips.
Rhonda was
all legs in her shiny gold top with a 70's mini skirt.
We thought
that surely Zora was one of the "Solid Gold Dancers" in her
multi-colored gold lamé top, her black mini skirt, and her gold
disco ball earrings!
And all of
our students and dancing friends came in an assortment of wild and
wooly costumes.
In true 70's
food style, we had some scrumptiously delicious cheese fondue.
All in all,
we had a really groovy time.
